25 years of the Ski School Ostrachtal - a success story
What once began with an idea and a love of skiing has long since developed into a high standard in the ski school sector, far beyond the Allgäu region...
1991
Markus Fügenschuh, Hubert Holzheu and Christof Brutscher founded the Ostrachtal ski school. We started the first season with 20 ski and snowboard instructors.
1996
A branch is opened in the Alpsee ski area with now around 40 ski and snowboard instructors.
2001
After 10 years of existence, the team now includes 70 ski and snowboard instructors.
2002
The “Meckatzer Sportalp” is our new “home” for ski school registration, rental and ski service. A rustic, elegant restaurant with a large sun terrace and excellent food, an après-ski bar and much more round off the offer.
2006
On December 23rd we will open Germany's largest snow children's land on 20,000 m². The competent sponsors at the inauguration are the multiple Olympic biathlon champion Michael Greis, ski star Felix Neureuther and of course our mascot Isidor.
2011
The construction of our new, state-of-the-art ski center is complete. At the inauguration, we can proudly look back on 20 years of the Ostrachtal ski school. 125 ski and snowboard instructors now supervise up to 100 courses a day.
2015
24 million euros are being invested in the modernization of the entire ski area . With three new chairlifts and a completely new snowmaking system with over 100 snow cannons, we are starting the winter with a secure future.
2015
The “Meckatzer Sportalp” will be expanded to 200 seats inside and 300 seats outside.
State-of-the-art event technology for image and sound in all rooms make the rustic hut the perfect location for all events.
In the basement you can now store your ski equipment safely and conveniently in heated lockers in our new ski depot.
